Gayle and I attended Spring Valley Baptist Church in Raytown, MO (Kansas City) when Sharon Baker launched this ministry through her the kid's Sunday school class. As of February 13, 2023 they have raised enough funds to purchase 938 goats for needy families!
The goats cost $85 each and a family will receive four goats (one male, three female).
From Sharon Baker: "A healthy dairy goat can give up to 16 cups of milk a day. Goat’s milk is easier to digest than cow’s milk and is an excellent source of calcium, protein, and other essential nutrients that growing children need. Goats are practical animals — flourishing in harsh climates while producing valuable manure to fertilize crops and vegetable gardens."
FBC is adopting this ministry through the kids of our church and via our missions/outreach team. The kids bring their tithes and offerings every Sunday to the "little church birdfeeder box" and are excited to see how much money they will have raised when the church becomes full.
